John R. Gray III is a Pacific Northwest artist. He has
been showing his artwork at science fiction art shows
nationally since 1982. Awards include: Best Fantasy,
Best Color, Most Unusual Concept, and Best Use of Humor.
He is a member of the Association of Science Fiction and
Fantasy Artists (ASFA).

His primary medium is acrylics applied with traditional
brushwork, airbrush, and just about anything else that
will work to achieve the desired feel for a given piece.
The majority of the artwork is done on hot-pressed
illustration board, but occasionally canvas or canvas-
board is used to compliment the subject matter.
John also does freelance commercial art, illustration,
black-and-white photo retouching, and is the owner of
A.N.R. Enterprises. Through A.N.R., he creates custom
latex masks, foam prosthetics, and stop-motion animation
models.

Publishing history includes book and cassette covers, a
series of fantasy bookplates, and illustrations in
various convention program books and fan publications.
Recent cover art includes work for BEYOND THE GLASS
MOUNTAIN (by Wallace Stegner) and ALL BUT THE WALTZ (by
Mary Clearman Blue). Both are books on cassette
published by Bay Area Digital.
