Unicorn Rider

A horse of white before my eyes,
I saw in the dim moonlight a beast of magic right there before me.
The creature kneeled down upon his breast and looked at me with hopeful eyes,
And I, being only a child, was foolish and daring enough to venture a ride from the horse.
So I sat upon the silky coat, and suddenly, the Unicorn bolted forward.
His mane whipped back into my face, is hooves pounded the moist earth below us.
We were one. My breath became his, and his mine.
I don't remember when he stopped, but that he reared up in glory of his might.
I will always remember that mystical night, when I became a Unicorn Rider.
