it has been a symbol of power, kingship, courage, and nobility. These
were the characteristics he wanted to instil in the students.

the great hall for 1 year. The house winning the house cup each
year has their banners hung for the following year. Gryffindor won
the house banner in 1991- 1994

McGonagall is the head of Gryffindor House, the deputy Headmistress of
Hogwarts, teaches Transfiguration, and is an Animagus capable of turning
into a cat. She is a strict and clever witch who is harder on the
students of her own house.

entrance to Gryffindor Tower is located on the seventh floor. It
is behind a large painting of a fat lady in a pink silk dress. If
you know the right password to tell her, she swings open to reveal a round
opening in the wall

house colours and quidditch robes for Gryffindor are scarlet and gold.
The Captain and Keeper was Oliver Wood, the Seeker, Harry Potter. the Chasers,
Angelina Johnson and Alicia Spinnet, and the Beaters, Fred and George Weasley.
