Snake was chosen as a symbol because Salazar Slytherin had the gift of
Parseltongue, enabling him to talk to snakes. Thomas Riddle (Voldermot)
also had this talent.

The house banner is hung in
the great hall for 1 year. The house winning the house cup each
year has their banners hung for the following year. Slytherin won
the house cup for 7 consecutive years.

The
Bloody Baron is a grim, silent, terrifying fellow who is covered with bloodstains
of unknown origin. Peeves, who respects the Baron for some
unknown reason, calls him "Your Bloodiness" and "Mr. Baron."

Trap Door In The Dungeon
The
entrance to Slytherin House is in the dungeon through a trap door.
The entrance is probably located there because Professor Snape teaches
potions in the basement.

Cup 1987-1993
The Slytherin quidditch robes are green with silver trim. The Chaser
and Captain is Marcus Flint, The other Chaser Warrington, the Keeper Bletchley,
the Seeker Draco Malfoy, the Beaters are Bole and Derrick. There
are no girls on the Slytherin team.
