Professor Flitwick was a duelling champion when he was younger.
Flitwood was excited when he say Harry Potter's name on his roster.  He gave an excited squeak and toppled out of sight. 

Flitwick brought back the pieces of Harry's Nimbus 2000 back to him in the infirmary after it was destroyed by the Whomping Willow.  He and Madame Hooch were assigned, by Professor McGonagall to strip down the Firebolt and search for Jinxes.  Fortunately none were found.

He decorated his classroom with shimmering lights, that turned out to be live fairies, for the holidays, then he read jokes to Dumbledore at the Christmas Party. 

He had his 4th year students reading three extra books in preparation for their class in Summoning Charms.  There was a great increase in work for the 4th and 5th year students as they perpared for their O. W. L. S.

Flitwick's Office was on the 7th floor, 13 windows from the right of the west tower.
